The use of desiccant canisters (sometimes also referred to as desiccant capsules) allows you to preserve your moisture-sensitive oral solid dose formulations, such as tablets, capsules and powders, better and for a longer period of time.

Silica gel is used as a drying agent in the desiccant canisters because of it's dehydrating and absorbent properties.
